FLOWERS EVERYWHERE
Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
Flowers, flowers everywhere,
In the garden, in my hair.
In the vase, at the store,
On the table, on the door.
What a lovely time of year,
Flowers blooming, bringing cheer.

Here is my stem and here are my petals.
When the sun comes out, just watch me grow.
I'll come out and say Hello!

Spring Fingerplays
Little Raindrops
This is the sun, high up in the sky.
(Form large circle with arms up)
A dark cloud suddenly comes sailing by.
(Move hands through the air in
a parallel motion.)
These are the raindrops,
(bring arms down, flutter fingers)
Pitter, pattering down.
Watering the flowers,
(Cup hands to form flowers.)
growing on the ground.

The Rain
Pitter-patter, raindrops falling from the sky; (flutter fingers down from the sky)
Here is my umbrella (cup one hand over pointer finger of the other hand)
To keep me safe and dry. (hold over head)
When the rain is over and the sun begins to glow, (make a big circle with your arms)
Little flowers start to bud, (cup two hands together)
And grow and grow and grow! (spread hands apart slowly)

Five Little Zinnias
Five little zinnias growing out side my door,
I picked one for Grandma, now there are four.
Four little zinnias, the prettiest I've seen,
I picked one for Grandpa, now there are three.
Three little zinnias, just a lovely few,
I picked one for Mommy, now there are two.
Two little zinnias reaching for the sun,
I picked one for Daddy, now there is one.
One little zinnia, a colorful little hero,
I picked it just for you, now there are zero!
